Ascaron has popped out a PC demo for action role-playing game Sacred 2.

The 1.7GB sampler can be snatched from FilePlanet, and offers the angelic Paladin-like Seraphim for a test romp around the lush lands of the High Elves.

That's just one of the classes included in the full Diablo-like game, of course. Joining the Seraphim will be the Shadow Warrior, High Elf, Dryad, Temple Guardian and Inquisitor. And each can be taken all the way up to level 200.

Unfortunately, there's no word on Xbox 360 or PS3 demos, and doubt has also been cast over the 7th November release date for all three versions. Speculation now points to an early 2009 launch.

Sacred 2 dominated headlines recently for securing the vocal talents of Eurogamer staff writer Rob Purchese, who also happens to be me. He-me voices an entire side-quest comprising of an old man, a village jester and a kobold.

Head over to Eurogamer TV to watch me professionally record my parts - whilst dressed as a jester, obviously. I made the voices up in the bath the night before.
