Inafune working on exclusive PS3 RPG
Plus, reveals why he left Capcom.
Former Capcom R&D boss Keiji Inafune is working on an exclusive PlayStation 3 RPG, with a release planned for this August.
According to a new Bloomberg interview, he also has a social game in the pipeline, scheduled to launch in Japan next month. No further details were offered, but presumably both titles are in development at the industry veteran's new Comcept studio.
Inafune left Capcom in October following a 23 year stint that saw him establishing a number of iconic franchises, including Mega Man, Resident Evil, Onimusha, Dead Rising and Street Fighter.
It seems the split wasn't entirely amicable. Inafune told Bloomberg that he walked out because Capcom was leaving him out of the decision-making process.
"In this industry, it's often the creators who have the eye for potential hits but they're not the ones deciding what gets published," he said. "We'll see many more clashes as creator-management divides widen."
