Gremlin Graphics back in the game
Gremlin Presents to launch Bounder remake.
Legendary video game label Gremlin Graphics is back, Eurogamer can exclusively reveal.
The first release from the new Gremlin Presents label is a remake of classic puzzle-platformer Bounder for iOS devices via new digital publisher Urbanscan.
Bounder's World is a new version of the old-school Commodore 64 game Bounder. It has been built from the ground-up for touch-screen devices, retaining the classic ball-bouncing 3D puzzle elements, while presenting brand new retina display graphics, new levels, a remixed soundtrack and smooth motion-controlled action.
Bounder, from Gremlin Graphics, launched 25 years ago in 1986.
Urbanscan was set up by Ian Stewart, founder of Gremlin Graphics. "I'm delighted to reveal that the first release on our Gremlin Presents label is the new Bounder's World game," he said.
"We've created an addictive, accessible and fun game that is a worthy sequel to the Commodore 64 original, taking full advantage of all the iOS features such as motion-control."
Bounder's World is due for release in the third quarter of the year – so some time between now and the end of September.
Stewart intends to exploit the portfolio of intellectual properties owned by Urbanscan, including Gremlin games Premier Manager and Wanted: Monty Mole, as well as creating new IPs.
