Konami scraps 1st PES 2012 Xbox demo
"We've tried hard but have to give up."
Konami has scrapped plans to launch the first PES 2012 demo on Xbox 360, it has announced.
In a series of tweets announcing the decision, PES team leader Jon Murphy expressed disappointment that Konami was unable to secure the release of the demo on Microsoft's console - despite it going live on PlayStation 3 and PC last month.
"Sorry to confirm that due to issues on both sides we can't release the 1st PES 2012 demo for 360," he tweeted. "We've tried hard but have to give up.
"We - Konami, the PES team and myself - are all really, really sorry."
Last month Konami delayed the Xbox 360 version of the PES 2012 demo until this month due to "unforeseen issues".
The news came on the day the demo launched on PC and PlayStation 3.
Xbox 360 owners will still get a chance to try the game before they buy, however. Konami plans to release a second, different PES 2012 demo in the middle of September because the first PES 2012 demo is "not truly representative of the final game".
The second demo will "reflect the final version's feel and gameplay".
"On a brighter note we'll announce the next demo shortly and release is just around the corner," Murphy said. "Hope you still give it a try."
