ORIGINAL STORY: Nintendo's major November 3DS firmware update has been pushed back to 8th December in Japan, putting its simultaneous European release plans in doubt.
The upgrade, which adds 3D video recording and new Mii Plaza mini-games, had been due to go live in Japan tomorrow.
A European release for 30th November has been touted by Nintendo UK in TV advertisements mentioning that the system's upcoming 3D video capabilites would be available from that date.
Nintendo of Japan has apologised for the delay in a statement issued today (seen by Gamespot). The company said the update required "more time to prepare", and thanked fans for their patience.
We've contacted Nintendo UK to find out what the situation is here.
As well as 3D video recording, the update adds new pictures for Mii Plaza mini-game Puzzle Swap and a fresh dungeon for your Miis to battle through in StreetPass Quest.
A new messaging service, Nintendo Letter Box, is also on the way, as are eShop upgrades to make downloading content easier.
