Labyrinthine riddle hidden in Trials HD solved

An impossibly convoluted riddle hidden away within acclaimed Xbox Live Arcade stuntbike epic Trials HD has finally been laid bare by developer RedLynx.

As demonstrated in the clip below, the studio tucked various seemingly unconnected symbols, codes, images and number strings throughout its 2009 release.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given how oblique it all is, it seems nobody has managed to figure out exactly what the developers were getting at. Until now.

With the help of RedLynx itself, a member of the Trials community who goes by the name of FatShady has put together a detailed explanation of the riddle in its entirety.

Essentially, RedLynx has attempted to answer The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's age-old conundrum: the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything.

It reaches some kind of conclusion via references to the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Stanley Kubrick, Charles Darwin and, suitably, Lost creator J J Abrams, among others.

"In an attempt to answer this question we have been on a journey through the past to highlight some of the world's greatest people and most baffling mysteries," read the summary at the clip's conclusion.

"These clues all tell a story that reveal the essence of being human and reveal an answer to this riddle."

"You could say I created the riddle, but what I really did was set the rules out. The game was played by the players, the riddle was discovered by them. I just started it. That was really the key here," commented RedLynx creative director Antti Ilvessuo.
