Criterion staffing up for Vita title
Handheld Need For Speed incoming?
Seasoned racing game specialist Criterion is working on a new Vita title, according to a recruitment call from the Guildford-based studio.
As spotted by eagle-eyed Twitter detective Superannuation, it's looking to hire a software engineer to join the team "that just delivered the highest rated Need for Speed title yet." Presumably, it's referring to 2010's well-received Hot Pursuit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for "optimising and tuning the game resource system for the PS Vita", "interfacing the game engine with several parts of the Vita OS" and "implementing interoperation between PS3 and the Vita".
Criterion's last release was downloadable quickie Burnout Crash, while there has been no formal announcement on its next project.
