Make Something Unreal Live 2013 competition begins
Calling all students, calling all students.
What talent will Epic Games unearth this year? The Make Something Unreal Live 2013 competition has begun.
Students are challenged to make PC games using the Unreal Development Kit, which is free. The theme this year is Mendelian genetics; ooh do mutants, do mutants!
The ultimate prize is a commercial Unreal Engine 4 licence for PC digital distribution. Submissions are open until 2nd November, and winners will be announced in April 2013.
Last year, Commando Kiwi won the competition with an iOS take on the Fighting Fantasy series. That game, Warlock of Firetop Mountain: Lost Chapters, still hasn't been ruddy released. It was weeks away in April, apparently. All Commando Kiwi has said is, "Slowly working on our new project, trust us, you will like it."
There's a briefing document available that you should read if you're interested in entering.
