Zeno Clash 2 slated for spring on XBLA, PSN and PC
New screenshots show off elephantine monstrosities, Dali-esque vistas.
The sequel to surreal dada-esque first-person brawler Zeno Clash has been dated for sometime this spring on XBLA, PSN and PC, publisher Atlus has announced.
Developed by the Chilean Caloguerea brothers at ACE team - creators of the original Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages - Zeno Clash 2 will pick up where its predecessor left off after an ambiguous encounter with a mysterious Golem.
The sequel will feature drop-in/drop-out co-op as players take the reins of series stalwart Ghat and his sister Rimat, who was an adversary in the previous game. This time out they'll team up to rescue their terrifying bird/parent/thing Father-Mother.
I played the demo of Zeno Clash 2 back at E3 and though brief it suggested a vastly improved combat system with area effect damage, meaning enemies will react according to where they're punched. They'll even have weak points that can be discovered ala Star Power in Punch-Out!! There will also be RPG-lite leveling, so you can increase your strength, defense, and stamina among other stats.
Our Chris Donlan thought highly of the first game, even if he reckoned you'd "need a hot bath and some strange dreams to get over this one" in his 8/10 Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition review.
