Basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal fights zombies by throwing basketballs in ShaqDown, a new post-apocalyptic side-scroller for your mobile phone.

It isn't Shaq's first video game appearance. Gamers were introduced to the ex-Lakers mega-star in the oft-overlooked 1994 SNES and Mega Drive fighter Shaq Fu. It saw Shaq learn kung fu to take on an Egyptian mummy.

ShaqDown, from indie developer One Spear Entertainment, is available now for Android and iOS devices, priced 62p/69p.

"In the not too distant future, humanity suffered a catastrophic zombie outbreak that wiped out millions of people," a ShaqDown trailer unearthed by Modojo describes.

"We heard stories of a man that stood up to the mutant zombies, all by himself," it continues. "We know him as the justice bringer. Shaq."

Cue catchphase-dunking, ball-toting hero Shaq. It's a sight to see.
