Wii U exclusives Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 unlikely to jump ship and go multiplatform
Not unless Nintendo wants them to, teases PlatinumGames.
Wii U exclusives Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 are very unlikely to appear on any other console unless the company funding them, Nintendo, wants them to. And I don't think that's about to happen.
PlatinumGames co-founder Hideki Kamiya popped up on Twitter to say all that. He spoke in the wake of two other Wii U exclusives, Rayman Legends and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, recently being announced for PS3 and 360.
"We're a development company... Nintendo gives us money, we make Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101, and they sell it," Kamiya explained.
"So if Nintendo says 'We're putting Bayonetta 2 on PS3 and 360' it'll come out on those platforms... So ask Nintendo about it..." he quipped.
Rayman Legends and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge were both revealed as 'now also coming to PS3 and 360' this week. As a result, Rayman Legends on Wii U has been delayed, which impressed no one - particularly the developers who busted a gut to get it finished in time.
Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 are probably the two most noteworthy remaining Wii U exclusives from third-party developers. Both will be published by Nintendo.
The only other third-party exclusives on the horizon are Lego City Undercover (also Nintendo-published) and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for 3DS and Wii U.
