Amazon.co.uk ships some Scribblenauts Unlimited copies despite delay
Mistakenly available via Wii U eShop for limited time.
An unconfirmed number of PAL Scribblenauts Unlimited copies have been shipped to Amazon.co.uk customers, despite the game's last-minute delay.
Scribblenauts Unlimited was due to be released in Europe last Friday, until publisher Nintendo issued an eleventh-hour delay.
A very vague explanation was given, and no new release date set.
A number of Amazon.co.uk customers have reported receiving their copies despite the delay, and posted photographic evidence online (thanks, Revogamers).
The game was also briefly available via the Wii U eShop last Friday, priced £49.99. It promptly disappeared, presumably pulled by Nintendo.
"We are sorry to announce that Scribblenauts Unlimited, a game developed by Warner Bros. Interactive and 5th Cell and published by Nintendo of Europe for both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, will be delayed in Europe," Nintendo said in a statement last week.
"It has come to light that some changes need to be implemented within the game before we launch them across Europe. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to make further announcements on the European launch of these games very soon."
It brings to mind Nintendo's recall of Mario Party 8. The company was forced to issue a new version of the game after an "assembly error" was found - a line of text in the game that used the offensive term 'spastic'.
