Olimar and Pikmin join Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS

The upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS will receive Pikmin protagonist Captain Olimar along with his merry band of Pikmin, Nintendo has announced.
This should come as a surprise to no one as Olimar first joined the series in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii. Pikmin will of course be more culturally relevant this time around with its first new entry in nearly a decade, Pikmin 3, hitting store shelves on 26th July in Europe and 4th August in North America.
Olimar & the Pikmin - which sounds like a rad band name, if I do say so myself - will be joining such classic Nintendo characters as Mario, Link, and Samus, as well as some new entrants like the Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, and an Animal Crossing Villager.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS is due next year. Check out Olimar and the gang in the latest screenshots below.
