Mike Bithell's Volume stars Danny Wallace and Youtuber Charlie McDonnell
Adapts the story of Robin Hood to a near future setting.
Volume, the upcoming indie game from Thomas was Alone creator Mike Bithell, stars Danny Wallace and Youtuber Charlie McDonnell.
Stealth game Volume adapts the story of Robin Hood to a near future setting. Robin Hood, aka Robert Locksley, is a petty thief who stumbles upon a volume, a simulator used to train the forces of an ongoing military coup.
With the assistance of the volume's tutorial AI, Locksley decides to broadcast simulations of robbery against England's wealthiest, becoming the world's first crime let's player.
Danny Wallace, who narrated Thomas was Alone, plays the AI who supports Robert in his mission. Robert is played by McDonnell in his first video game appearance.
The trailer, below, shows off some of the game's voice acting from both Wallace and McDonnell.
Volume is a timed PlayStation 4 and Vita exclusive. The Metal Gear Solid-esque stealth game will launch on PC and Mac a month after it launches on PlayStation consoles at some point in 2014.
Eurogamer spoke with Bithell for a Volume preview published in August.
