Four Oddworld games come to Europe tomorrow in the Oddboxx
Get the whole series for £15.99 / €19.99.
The Oddworld series is coming to the European PSN tomorrow in one complete package entitled the Oddboxx.
Priced at £15.99 / €19.99, it includes: Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee HD, Stranger's Wrath HD, plus a bonus Oddworld "Abe Moon" Avatar.
Curiously, the Oddboxx contains the PS3 versions of all these titles, but only Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus offer Cross-Buy support on Vita. Stranger's Wrath and Munch's Oddysee HD are also available on Vita, but must be purchased separately to be played on the go.
Unfortunately, developer Oddworld Inhabitants has hit a bureaucratic snag preventing the Oddboxx from coming to North America. The developer offered the bizarre roundabout conundrum on its blog: "SCEA cannot release the Oddboxx because of technicalities regarding the product publisher code. While in SCEE territories, Oddworld is listed as the publisher on all four titles (so there's no issue), but in SCEA, Oddworld is only the publishers on two of the titles. So at the moment, while we're hoping to find a solution, we're not able to release the Oddboxx to you lovely American folks at this time. We'll have to see."
Looking ahead, Oddworld Inhabitants is working on Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, an HD remake of the original Abe's Oddysee, due next year on PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, PC, Mac and Linux.
