Why Alien: Isolation is the Alien game you've been waiting for
Plus more from Outside Xbox.
Hello, Eurogamers! A new year means a fresh start for everyone, even a franchise as beleaguered as the Alien one. Creative Assembly wipes the slate clean with Alien: Isolation: a first-person horror ordeal that will make you forget all about Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Alien: Isolation stars Ripley's daughter Amanda and a single, nightmarishly intelligent Xenomorph. The first bits of gameplay appear in this tentatively hopeful preview.
As we near the end of a console generation woefully short of vampire protagonists, here's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in the nick of time. In this Castlevania hack and slasher, out next month, you play as legendary proto-goth Dracula (née Gabriel Belmont). Watch him go in new gameplay below.
Finally, for the dysfunctional families that put Castlevania's feuding Belmonts in the shade, consider the worst parents in gaming. Chief among them is Tekken patriarch Heihachi Mishima, who is forever stuffing his offspring into volcanoes.
Those were your Oxbox highlights for the week, normal programming will resume shortly. For more video game videos, come visit us over at Outside Xbox.
