Mutant Mudds dev announces Xeodrifter for 3DS eShop
A downloadable Metroidvania.
Mutant Mudds and Dementium developer Renegade Kid has revealed its new project - a 3DS Metroidvania game named Xeodrifter.
Due for digital release via the 3DS eShop, Xeodrifter is a 2D retro-themed title that uses NES-style graphics and a basic colour palette.
There's no word yet on a release date or price.
The title began as a de-make of existing 3DS game Moon Chronicles, but eventually spawned into its own project, Renegade Kid designer Jools Watsham told GoNintendo.
"I am a huge fan of Super Metroid, Metroid Zero Mission, and Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, and have always wanted to develop a game in that sub-genre," Watsham said.
"Xeodrifter is the story of an interstellar drifter traveling the stars on a mission of exploration. In this particular installment of the story, we join our nomad as he embarks on the exploration of small cluster of four planets."
An early look at the game's map shows around a hundred small rooms, with different areas navigable via spaceship. See it in full below.
