The Talos Principle gets a December release date on Steam
Coming to PS4 and Android in Q1 2015
Serious Sam developer Croteam's first-person puzzler The Talos Principle now has an 11th December release date on PC, Mac and Linux via Steam.
The PS4 and Android versions will follow in Q1 2015.
Pre-orders will be 10 per cent off its usual $39.99 price (so about £30) and will come with a complementary giftable copy of Serious Sam 3: BFE.
While The Talos Principle is developed by Croteam, it hired a couple of hotshot writers such as Tom Jubert (FTL, The Swapper) and Jonas Kyratzes (The Sea Will Claim Everything, The Book of Living Magic) to pen its script.
It sounds rather ambitious with publisher Devlolver Digital offering the following summary of its plot: "Players assume the role of a sentient artificial intelligence placed within a simulation of humanitys greatest ruins and linked together through an arcane cathedral. Players are tasked with solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles woven into a metaphysical parable about intelligence and meaning in an inevitably doomed world."
To get a taste at the sort of heady mindf*** Croteam is up to here, the developer released a free teaser mini-game for The Talos Principle called Sigils of Elohim on Steam, iTunes and Google Play.
If you don't mind some early game spoilers, here's a Let's Play of a Devolver intern playing through the opening 78 minutes of The Talos Principle's beta.
