In the 1990s, Mortal Kombat became a global phenomenon, spawning movies, albums of confrontational techno and even a live action tour. Lots of games therefore tried to hop on the bandwagon and grab some of that blood-soaked cash for themselves.
Most soon realised you can't just dress your mate in a karate gi, film him doing some kicks in front of a green screen and have a smash hit video game on your hands. Here for your edification are the early nineties' most egregious Mortal Kombat klones. Sorry, clones.
In online games, a troll is a player who amuses themselves by being a right pain in your neck or other sensitive and important body part, just for fun. But then sometimes it's not just for fun. These Xbox achievements reward trolls with real, actual gamerscore for classic troll behaviour - and you too, if you sink to their level.
Finally this week, we return to MachineGames' rejuvenated Wolfenstein for standalone expansion The Old Blood, in which we find loveable meathead BJ Blazkowicz thinning the Nazi ranks back in 1946.
And yes, BJ Blazkowicz is a silly name, but how does it stack up against some the rest of video games' equally ridiculous handles? Show of the Week finds out, evaluating improbable names such as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's "Hot Coldman", which is at least as much self-contradicting nonsense as "standalone expansion".
