Nintendo hires Bowser as new US sales chief
A guy called Doug Bowser, that is.
Nintendo of America has hired a new vice president of sales and marketing: Doug Bowser.
Bowser previously worked at EA, where he served as VP of Global Business Planning - presumably the business of destroying the globe by kidnapping princesses and their castles.
At Nintendo US, Bowser will help oversee the company's many advertising, marketing and financial projects for upcoming 3DS and Wii U games.
He will also likely be looking after future projects such as smartphone games, the NX console and Nintendo's upcoming foray into theme parks as well.
But Bowser is still a minion compared to his boss and executive VP of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt, and then to the guy at the top of the food chain - Nintendo's US president Reggie Fils-Aime.
"Doug Bowser is an outstanding addition to our Nintendo team, as he brings a deep blend of both consumer package goods and video game sales experience," Moffitt explained in a statement to Business Wire.
"I know he will work tirelessly with our internal and external partners to ensure the broad Nintendo product lineup of hardware, software and accessories are strongly represented throughout US retail points of distribution."
Say what you want, this still sounds like another one of his schemes.
