Capcom will sell wearable Mega Man helmets
UPDATE: Now available for pre-order at $150.
UPDATE 09/07/2015 6.28pm: The wearable Mega Man helmet is now available for pre-order at $150 (about £98).
It will ship in "winter 2015".
Dimensions are 14 inches tall by 11 inches wide and it will weigh three pounds.
Capcom noted that "extremely limited quantities will be produced based on advance pre-orders."
UPDATE 08/07/2015 6.03pm: Capcom is going to start selling wearable helmets emulating that of its most recognisable character, Mega Man.
"There have been many attempts at creating a wearable Mega Man helmet over the years, but it's never been made officially," said Capcom on its Unity Blog.
These high end replicas will be made of high quality ABS plastic, a high polish finish and working LED lights. They'll also feature a clamshell design so they'll fit snugly over your noggin.
According to the publisher, these will come in a "decorated box suitable for displaying your helmet when not in use," though pictures of said box haven't been shown yet.
The wearable Mega Man helmet will be exclusive to Capcom's online storefront, though it's yet to be revealed when they'll go on sale. Attendees of San Diego Comic-Con will be able to see one of the models in person, but they won't actually be for sale at the expo.
Capcom said in its store FAQ that "unless otherwise noted on the product page, all items will ship around the world," so ostensibly UK and European users will be able to snag this high end replica once it's on the market.
Mega Man hasn't been especially in vogue lately as there haven't been any new titles starring the Blue Bomber in years, but Capcom recently announced the Mega Man Legacy Collection, which will bring the first six Mega Man games to PS4, Xbox One and PC this summer followed by a 3DS version in winter.
