Capcom announces Resident Evil 2 remake via T-shirt
"We do it!"
Capcom has officially announced that it's remaking Resident Evil 2.
The project was unveiled via a T-shirt / YouTube video of Capcom producer Yoshiaki Hirabyashi sporting a top proclaiming "We do it!" while standing next to a TV displaying a makeshift Resident Evil 2 Remake logo.
"You've been telling us for years that you want Resident Evil 2 to be remade, and we haven't been able to make it happen... until now!" Hirabyashi said.
Folks have been clamouring for a Resident Evil 2 remake for ages and a fan has even nearly finished making their own with rather impressive results. After such a project Capcom wanted feedback from the community regarding its quality and whether Capcom proper should devote its resources into making this wish fulfillment happen. It looks like the people have spoken and Resi 2 is on the docket.
Unfortunately there's no word yet on when the Resident Evil 2 remake will arrive, but Capcom will bring us an HD remake of Resident Evil 0 due in early 2016.
