New Fist of the North Star game coming
Tecmo Koei shows teaser trailer.
Tecmo Koei has shown a teaser trailer for a new Fist of the North Star game at the Tokyo Game Show.
You can view the trailer over at Destructoid. It shows flowers being turned to dust and a lady throwing herself off a building to some hotel-lobby piano music - none of which really screams "videogame adaptation of popular manga and anime about punching", but there you go.
Fist of the North Star, known as Hokuto no Ken in Japan, has been spun off into several games over the years, predominantly for the Japanese market. The most recent and best-known was a 2D fighting game for the arcades and PS2 by Arc System Works, published by SEGA.
Wikipedia notes that there have also been several videogame versions of Fist of the North Star pachinko machines, an MMORPG, and an adventure game for the Saturn, among others. We had no idea.
There's no indication yet what form Tecmo Koei's take on the franchise will take, but going by the teaser, we can expect to learn more soon: on 14th October. Stay tuned.
