PS Eye has facial recognition capability
Can tell how old, male and happy you are.
Sony has revealed the PlayStation Eye camera is capable of recognising faces and their individual features.
The news was announced by Kish Hirani, SCEE's head of developer services, at the Develop conference in Brighton. He said the PS Eye will be able to detect "gender and even the age of the face, separate facial features such as the nose, eyes and ears, and even detect whether you’re smiling or not".
A slide shown during his presentation also stated it can track the position and direction of the head, follow the movement of your eyebrows and tell when you wink or shut your eyes.
Later on Hirani repeated a portion of the motion-controller demo from E3, but for comprehensive info you're better off reading our June report.
Look out for a full interview with Hirani on Eurogamer soon.
