Xbox 360 and LG enter 3D partnership
Updated with Microsoft comment.
Update: Microsoft has told Eurogamer it will not comment directly on the LG deal. Instead, a broad statement on 3D was offered.
"We have 3D technology today and games exist on Xbox 360," a company spokesperson said. "We're committed to evolving that technology as consumer demand evolves.
"But the spotlight for Xbox 360 and the industry is focused on creating breakthrough social experiences that everyone can enjoy together – big innovations like Project Natal and immersive experiences on Xbox Live."
Original story: Microsoft has taken a step towards 3D by inking an intriguing deal with television manufacturer LG.
This will jointly market 3D-capable LG televisions with 3D-capable Xbox 360 games in June, according to Engadget's understanding of a Korean press release.
There's no mention of new hardware or Xbox 360 system update akin to what Sony is doing on PS3.
The deal could see the pair expand throughout the Asia Pacific if successful.
Further clarification may come during Microsoft's E3 conference on Monday, 14th June at 6pm BST.
