15 minutes of Rise of the Tomb Raider gameplay footage
Beary nice.
Nearly 15 minutes of Rise of the Tomb Raider footage have appeared on YouTube.
The demo, Siberian Wilderness, follows Lara Croft as she's split up from her adventuring partner, and then tries to survive her harsh freezing conditions by salvaging things from the environment around her. It's a section of gameplay that follows on from the teaser trailer you've probably seen.
Lara collects wood to make a fire, loots an animal carcass for its skin, and strings together her own bow - which she can reinforce and upgrade when she finds appropriate materials. She puts her ice axes to good use.
Eventually people come looking for her - hostile people - and she's forced into fighting, which she's rather good at. She climbs trees easily, in a manner similar to Assassin's Creed, and can jump from there onto - or aim an arrow at - enemies below.
She even has a fight with a bear.
Lara Croft is, naturally, in search of some old ruins and the secrets they hold. The end of the trailer has a montage of clips teasing the sorts of things you'll get up to in the rest of the game.
Rise of the Tomb Raider has timed Xbox exclusivity, and is due out on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on 10th November. Quite how it will look on older hardware - in comparison to the handsome gameplay footage here - remains to be seen.
