The sales are strong with Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
May the 4th be with your wallet.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the UK's best-selling game, going by physical sales.
It's the fourth biggest Lego video game launch of all time, UK numbers company Chart-Track said.
So, its launch lands behind Indiana Jones (2008), Marvel Super Heroes (2013) and Batman (2008) in terms of Lego games. But, The Force Awakens enjoyed the biggest Lego Star Wars game launch.
Unlike most games sold in UK shops, Lego games aren't all about week one sales. They tend to continue to sell well in the weeks and months after release. As Chart-Track points out, Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy (2006) sold more in its second week of launch, so I expect Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens to stick around the chart for some time.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is also the fourth biggest launch for a Star Wars game in the UK, behind Star Wars Battlefront (2015), The Force Unleashed (2008) and Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith (2005).
Meanwhile, Square Enix's PlayStation 4 role-playing game Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness enters the chart in sixth place. 7 Days to Die, published by Telltale Games at retail, enters the chart at number nine.
Other debuts include The Technomancer at 13 and Minecraft: Wii U Edition at 18.
Tom reviewed Lego Star Wars last week and found it answered many of the usual criticisms levelled at Lego gameplay, although struggled to fill a full game based on one film's story.
