Apple sells 9 million iPads in 3 months
Demand at "an absolute frenzy".
Apple sold 20.34 million iPhones and 9.25 million iPads in the last three months, according the manufacturer's Q3 earnings report.
The company's net income rose to $7.31bn (£4.6bn) for the quarter, up 125 per cent year-on-year – its best ever performance.
"We sold every iPad we could make," said chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer, as reported by Venturebeat.
"Sales of the iPad 2 have absolutely been a frenzy," added COO Tim Cook, before insisting it was finally beginning to be able to meet demand for the latest iteration of its best-selling tablet.
"As we stepped into July, we have been able to increase the supply further, and some SKUs in some countries are at a supply-demand balance," he explained. "This is a good sort of problem to have."
