Apples to Apples, the famous card game about making loose connections between words, is now on iOS.
For the uninitiated, here's how it works: One player assumes the role of a judge, who draws a green card with a word on it. This word becomes visible to all party members, and everyone else has to select the word from their hand that they think best describes what's on the green card.
For example, if the green card says "annoying" you may have to choose from such words and phrases as "Darth Vader," "bongos", "flying monkeys", "tornadoes", or "wrecking balls".
Of course, there's no objective answer, so much of it comes down to how well you can gauge whoever's in the judge's seat that round. So in the previous example, if you know the judge hates reggae music, bongos would be a good pick.
In short, it's Cards Against Humanity, only family-friendly. Also, it came out first in 1999 and CAH was a parody of it.
This iOS version supports up to five players and has social integration functions wherein you can play with your friends on Facebook and post your favourite combinations. There's even a Trending Card Combinations selection available in the main menu.
While the main game is free, there are Card Pack Themes available for purchase, sporting such topics as geography, animals and celebrities.
