ASUS vote
have decided to run an open vote on whether or not their "3D SeeThrough Technologies" should be released in future versions of their graphics card drivers. The new "features" allow players to see through walls and play games in wireframe mode, which could give users of ASUS graphics cards an unfair advantage in 3D multiplayer games such as Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament and Counter-Strike.
Unfortunately at the time of writing the SeeThrough webpage was broken - the log keeping track of the poll had run out of hard drive space (doh!) and the forums didn't appear to be there either. Almost 3000 people had already voted though, with 90% of them saying that the drivers should not be released. This is eerily similar to the results of the poll run by the Online Gamers Assocation recently, which also showed 90% of players against the new features being released. Hopefully ASUS will take notice this time and decide not to release the drivers... To find out more or register your own opinion (assuming they manage to get their website working again), head over there now.
