A while ago we took a bit of time out from pasting brains on concrete and scoring winning World Cup goals to examine a less gamey game from Jester Interactive. Music 3, the follow-up to the rather excellent MTV Music Generator 2, seemed keen to reinvent the PS2's audio capabilities in order to produce the best and most extensive music composition program for consumers imaginable.

At the time, the only thing the software really needed was a tie-in, and now it has one. Thanks to a deal with Perfecto Records, Jester's Music 3 will be promoted by various artists including Timo Maas and Paul Oakenfold, both of whom are apparently "massive gamers".

Paul's recent hit "Starry Eyed Surprise" which you may recall from the Capital FM TV adverts if you live here in the UK, "Ready Steady Go!" and Timo's "To Get Down" will all come pre-loaded into Music 3, so that users can remix and edit them, and even produce videos. Further licensed tracks are planned for announcement shortly.

Music 3 is currently on track (hah) for a PS2 release in Q1 2003.
