Obsidian action RPG Dungeon Siege III will release on 27th May in Europe, publisher Square Enix has announced.

A Limited Edition is available only to those who pre-order. It contains four unique in-game items that can be activated on the day of launch.

Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian is making the game with the help of original creator Gas Powered Games and its boss Chris Taylor. It'll appear on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as PC.

The story concerns a fragile equilibrium between powerful factions being disturbed, and you, the protector of the disgraced kingdom of Ehb, are the only one who can unite them. Players assume the role of one of four legionnaires. There is plenty of loot, a story, dialogue and quests.

Christian Donlan went hands-on for Eurogamer last month. What did he think? "While Obsidian's yet to reveal the full range of playable classes, and co-op and multiplayer remains under wraps, what's been shown so far is confident, likable, and engaging. Fingers crossed, then."
