Peter Serafinowicz lending voice to new Assassin's Creed
UPDATE: Serafinowicz to voice marketing only, Ubisoft says.
UPDATE: Serafinowicz's role is limited to Assassin's Creed 3's marketing campaign only, Ubisoft has just clarified.
"We worked with Peter Serafinowicz to give voice to our UK advertising for Assassin's Creed 3, as his tone and gravitas were a perfect fit for the brand," a Ubisoft spokesperson said.
ORIGINAL STORY: British comedian Peter Serafinowicz has a role in the next Assassin's Creed game.
We're assuming he means Assassin's Creed 3, rather than PlayStation Vita sister title Liberation.
"Did a voiceover for the new Assassin's Creed," Serafinowicz wrote on Twitter.
"Looks great btw", he added. "Got to say 'PEGI 18'".
Deep-voiced Serafinowicz is known for his roles in Spaced and Shaun of the Dead, as well as for fronting the Peter Serafinowicz Show. He was also the speaking half of Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
It's not the first time developer Ubisoft has roped in a well-known actor for an Assassin's Creed role. Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell played the character of Lucy in the first three games.
