Castlevania: Mirror of Fate lurks in development until "early 2013"
Dracula needs his beauty rest, apparently.
2.5D 3DS exclusive Castlevania: Mirror of Fate has been pushed back into "early 2013," Konami has announced.
"It's been two years since the enormous success of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and with this next installment, we want to take the necessary time needed to give fans a handheld title unlike any other," said producer Dave Cox.
"Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will bridge the storyline to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, also planned to release in 2013." Don't expect this anytime soon though as I was told by Konami that it was at least 18 months away at E3 last June where it failed to appear as more than a pre-rendered teaser trailer. This suggests a December 2013 release at the earliest.
Developed by Lords of Shadow creators Mercury Steam, Mirror of Fate is set 25 years after the event of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and will follow Gabriel Belmont's descendants, Simon and Trevor, "as they battle their own destiny only to discover their true, shocking fate."
