Dark Souls 3 - where to go, with map
Lost in the Kingdom of Lothric? Follow our spoiler-light guide to where you should head next to advance the game.
THIS GUIDE CONTAINS MILD SPOILERS FOR THE GAME'S MISSIONS AND BOSSES.
The first few areas of Dark Souls 3 are linear and simply carrying on from your last boss fight usually leads in the right direction, but once you've got settled in and found your stride the path splits, and from this point onwards it's not always clear where to go next or how to get there. As a great man once said, it always helps to have a map, so we've created one to show you how the areas join together. Design-wise it's quite a long way from the sort of thing you'd find in the Kingdom of Lothric, but it should show you where to you need to go.
We should point out that because this gives you an overview of the entire game, it could be considered spoilers. Accordingly, we've put the map at the bottom of this page, so you have to scroll down to reach it. To help that happen, and to provide a text version for those who are into that sort of thing, we've also compiled a list of locations with a brief description of how to find them. Now, on with the location list. For each, we've given the location you need to get to, where you reach it from, and the task you need to complete in order to access it.
Firelink Shrine
Get there from: Cemetary of Ash
Defeat Iudex Gundyr. High Wall of Lothric
Get there from: Firelink Shrine
Talk to the Firekeeper when you first arrive and it will be added as a fast travel location to your bonfire.
Foot of the High Walls (Undead Settlement)
Get there from: High Wall of Lothric
Collect the banner from the chapel and defeat Vordt of Boreal Fire, then use the banner on the edge of the broken path.
Road of Sacrifices
Get there from: Foot of the High Walls (Undead Settlement)
From the Dilapidated Bridge bonfire, head back through the sewers, cross the bridge, and enter the building ahead.
Cathedral of the Deep
Get there from: Road of Sacrifices
From the Crucifixion Woods bonfire head through the gap in the wall on the left side of the building ahead, defeat the Crystal Sage boss, and head through the narrow arch to the left of his bonfire.
Farron Keep
Get there from: Road of Sacrifices
From the Crucifixion Woods bonfire, drop into the water and cross to the outcropping of land on the other side.
Catacombs of Carthus
Get there from: Farron Keep
Defeat the Abyss Watchers and approach the altar.
Irithyll of the Boreal Valley
Get there from: Catacombs of Carthus
Defeat Lord High Wolnir and exit through the far door.
Irithyll Dungeon
Get there from: Irithyll of Boreal Valley
From Church of Yorshka bonfire head down the narrow stairs, turn left, head down some more stairs, pass through the dark area, and head to the far left end of the river.
Profaned Capital
Get there from: Irithyll Dungeon
Cross the narrow bridge in the large stone cavern - the boss fight can be found by heading down the ladder from the wooden floor in the tower (directly in front of you from the bonfire - you actually can't see it when you Fast Travel to the location).
Anor Londo
Get there from: Irithyll of Boreal Valley Defeat Pontiff Sulyhvan and exit through the rear of the church.
Lothric Castle
Get there from: High Wall of Lothric
You'll be transported to the chapel in High Walls (where you collected the banner back at the start of the game) after defeating Aldrich in Anor Londo. Activating the next boss fight by approaching the statue in the chapel and defeating the Dancer reveals a ladder to the next area.
Grand Archives
Get there from: Lothric Castle
Defeat the Dragonslayer Armour.
Smouldering Lake
Get there from: Catacombs of Carthus
After defeating Wolnir knock down the narrow wooden bridge just before his location to create a ladder to a lower platform.
Consumed King's Garden
Get there from: High Wall of Lothric
After defeating the Dancer head up the ladder and take the path to the left.
Untended Graves
Get there from: Consumed King's Garden
Defeat Ocerios in the Consumed King's Garden and pass through the illusory wall at the far end of the room.
Archdragon Peak
Get there from: Irithyll Dungeon
Defeat Oceiros, collect the gesture from the corpse in the room, then return to the dungeon and perform the gesture in the small outdoor area near the shortcut elevator.
Final Fight
Get there from: Firelink Shrine
Defeat the Princes of Lothric and talk to the Firekeeper back at Firelink.
