GTA Online launches its "massive" racing-themed Super Sport Series event
Introduces new modes, vehicles, and more.
Rockstar has announced that GTA Online will be a getting a series of "massive" racing updates as part of its months-long Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series event.
Things get underway today with an update that introduces Hotring Circuit, the first of two new Racing Modes planned for the event. Hotring Circuit can accommodate up to 30 players, and is specially designed for use with new Declasse Hotring Sabre vehicle. Participants can get Double GTA$ and RP from today until March 26th.
Today's update also introduces the Overflod Entity XXR and Cheval Taipan super cars, the Vulcar Fagaloa station wagon, and the four-wheel-drive Vapid GB200.
The Super Sports Series event get its second new Racing mode, Target Assault, on April 3rd. Target Assault offers a "frantic" blend of racing and shooting for 8 teams of 2 player. One player on each team takes care of the driving, while another unloads the mounted gun. Gunners earn points by shooting targets, and drivers score points for coming first each lap.
Next up, on May 1st, GTA Online will introduce ten new Special Vehicle Races, featuring the Deluxo, Stromberg, and Thruster from The Doomsday Heist. Seven new Transform Races will arrive on May 29th, with two new Adversary Modes and additional vehicles to follow.
Finally, new tools and updates for Creator mode - including more weather options, custom team names and Warp Checkpoints for Transform Races - are due this spring.
