Here's our first look at Rage 2 gameplay
Post-apunkalyptic sequel arrives 2019.
Guns, mohawks and that weird little fidget spinner weapon thing - yes, this is Rage 2. Leaked last week, confirmed yesterday, Bethesda now has an official gameplay trailer for you to see.
We also now know a very vague release window - "2019".
Some areas of the game look a lot like the original - a sunbaked wasteland with glowy-eyed mutants and visuals straight out of Mad Max. But, this time, it looks like we'll be exploring a much bigger open world, with forests and mountain areas, and there's hints of the dayglo punk colour palette previously seen in the game's logo and teaser trailer.
On the game's story, we have only small details. You play as Walker, "the last Ranger of the wasteland and a threat to their power", Bethesda explained. "You will tear across an unforgiving wasteland battling sadistic gangs to find the tools and tech needed to crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all."
As announced last night, Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios is handling development duties alongside series creator id Software.
"Rage 2 packs a carnival of carnage so intense it can only come from two legendary AAA studios," today's press release concludes. "That's right, this is a f****ing AAAAAA game."
