Just Cause 4 announced, and it's due 4th of December this year
Updated with new info from the Square-Enix E3 Showcase
UPDATE: Square-Enix has just dropped some new details on Just Cause 4 during its E3 showcade.
The new game is set in the South-American country Solis, which is the series' largest playground yet. There are ancient temples and lovely beaches, but there's also a horrible paramilitary group called the Black Hand, run by a lady named Gabriella.
The main new focus is on extreme weather. Alongside the tornado seen in early trailers, there will also be crazy lightning and blizzards, all of which will present new dangers and new options.
New vehicle types are promised, including bulldozers and those trucks they transport cars on. Elsewhere the vehicle handling model has been refined.
The grapple hook has also been refined. Controls will be better, apparently, and you can now tether far more objects together. On top of that you can add booster rockets to, say, send a jeep floating across the sky. Enemies are smarter and come in a range of new archetypes, which is wonderfully Jungian. There's a new engine, too, which sounds less Jungian but we'll take it.
Just Cause 4 has just been announced, at Microsoft's E3 press conference.
Avalanche's latest open-worlder sees Rico taking on "the world's most powerful private army." Cue lots of vehicles knocking into each other, and Rico messing around with his parachute and hookshot thingy and all that lovable jazz. Weather seems to play a major role this time - that's a pretty big tornado tearing everything to pieces intermittently throughout the trailer.
Just Cause 4 will be here on 4th December this year.
