Award-winning Skyrim mod Enderal coming to Steam
Headed to store sh-elves.
Had enough of Skyrim ports? Can't quite hold on until the next Elder Scrolls game? Don't worry, modders have your back - and you can now play one of their best creations without ever leaving Steam. Hooray!
Enderal, developed by SureAI, is a total conversion mod that breaks down Skyrim and builds a new game using Skyrim's assets. We've previously published some Enderal gameplay impressions , but in brief it's an incredibly detailed and expansive mod which gives players a brand new world to explore. Oh, and it's critically acclaimed: Enderal won the Best Fan Creation category at the 2016 Game Awards. Not to mention it's been downloaded nearly 200,000 times on NexusMods.
So, what can you do in Enderal?
It's an open world, so like Skryim, a lot of the appeal revolves around exploration. There are plenty of biomes - ranging from tropical coasts to dense forests - so players have a wealth of locations to visit.
Not just a pretty face, Enderal also has its own "unique, dark and psychological" narrative with over 30 hours of professionally-voiced dialogue. It introduces new gameplay mechanics, including a completely overhauled leveling and skill-system, and gives players the ability to build their own class by combining nine sub-classes (which each have their own individual playstyle). And this summary only scratches the surface - for the full list of features, take a gander at Enderal's NexusMods page.
There isn't a specific release date for the mod, but it'll be available by the end of the year. In even better news, it will be completely free - all you need is the official base copy of Skyrim. Conveniently, it also runs separately to Skyrim, and won't interfere with your Skyrim directory - meaning you can have both installed at the same time. Enderal also comes with its DLC Forgotten Stories, which in itself contains 10-20 hours worth of quests. As if you needed more.
If you want further updates on the mod's release date, make sure to add it to your Steam wishlist.
