Ubisoft shares early details on Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Wind Bastion update
First info on Morocco map and Operators.
Rainbow Six Siege is poised to receive the fourth and final season update for its current Year 3 schedule and, in anticipation, Ubisoft has revealed first details on its new Morocco-themed map and two new Operators.
Siege's Year Three Season Four update, more memorably known as Operation Wind Bastion, is focussed on Morocco's Groupe d'Intervention de La Gendarmerie Royale (GIGR). Its headline features, all geographically appropriate, have been outlined in a new blog post.
"Rainbow Six has secured permission to use the renowned fortress located in the Atlas Mountains," explains Ubisoft, and it's here that Siege's new map, at least part of which unfolds within a mud brick Kasbah, is situated. "Enjoy unprecedented roof access," the publisher continues, "but do try to stay focused despite the breathtaking oasis just next door."
As for Wind Bastion's new Operators, one is the Commander stationed within the Kasbah, described as being "as stoic as the mountains are immovable". This Defender class Operator is joined by an Attacker that "travels wherever the wind takes her". Operator number two is apparently "an expert on environmental operations with a knack for pushing the enemy back", although gameplay specifics for either addition are scant.
Further details on Operation Wind Bastion will be revealed on Twitch during the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League Finals, which take place on November 17th and 18th.
Operation Wind Bastion also brings the controversial aesthetic changes to Rainbow Six Siege that Ubisoft announced last week. These will see certain blood, gambling, and sex references removed in order to "ensure compliance" with local regulations in "Asian territories".
