There's an official Iron Man game coming to PSVR later this year
Stark days ahead.
If you've finally exhausted the sticky fingered thrills of tossing yourself about New York in your best Spider-Man gear, do not despair. There's more Marvel superhero action coming to PlayStation 4 in the form of Iron Man VR.
As you can probably surmise from its name, Iron Man VR is a PSVR game built entirely around everybody's favourite sassy playboy billionaire, Tony Stark. What that amounts to in real terms, I could not possibly say just yet - although the semi-cinematic trailer that Sony's unveiled during its State of Play livestream today had a whole lot of sky-high shooting.
According to a brisk post on Marvel's official blog, Iron VR sees Tony Stark confronting "ghosts from his past" that "seek to ruin him and everything he stands for", and pits players against "iconic allies and Super Villains as they jet around the globe on a heroic mission to save not only Stark Industries, but the world itself".
Marvel illustrator and costume designer Adi Granov has imagined a spruced-up version of the familiar Iron Man suit, known as the Impulse Armour, specifically for the game, offering a "sleek and modern twist to Tony's classic comic book designs." More crucially, however, you also get to punch an aeroplane into bits.
Iron Man VR is a collaboration between developer Camouflaj, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel Games, and is due to launch on PSVR later this year.
