Potter's Calamity start time and how the Brilliant Events work in Harry Potter Wizards Unite

Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity is the next limited event for Harry Potter Wizard Unite. Unlike the previous event, however, it's going to be split across two different weeks.

The first week of Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity will run from July 16th to July 23rd, with a start time of:

• UK: 7pm (BST)
• Europe: 8pm (CEST)
• East Coast US: 2pm (EDT)
• West Coast US: 11am (PDT)

Once July 23rd has come and gone, you'll no longer be able to take part in this week of the event or claim any of the rewards.

The second week of Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity will run from July 30th to August 6th, with a start time of:

• UK: 7pm (BST)
• Europe: 8pm (CEST)
• East Coast US: 2pm (EDT)
• West Coast US: 11am (PDT)

When August 6th is over, you'll no longer be able to take part in the event or claim any of the rewards.

Throughout the event there will be a variety of activities to complete, including Special Assignments, 7km Brilliant Portkey Portmanteaus to be opened and Brilliant Foundables to be found.

Unlike Daily and SOS Assignment, these Special Assignments only appear during a Brilliant Event.

Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity quest steps explained

There are eight sets of Special Assignments in total for Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity. Each week of the event has its own set of four Special Assignments and each Special Assignment consists of three different tasks.

Completing a task will grant you one reward, while completing a Special Assignment set will give you three. Remember, you must collect your rewards before the Brilliant Event ends - 23rd July for Week One and 6th August for Week Two.

You can't collect the rewards from Week One in Week Two and if you leave any rewards unclaimed then they are lost forever.

Week One - 16th July to 23rd July:

How to find Brilliant Foundables in Harry Potter Wizards Unite

Throughout Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity you will be able to add Brilliant Foundables to a special page for the event in your Registry.

You can find this page by opening your Registry and then pressing on 'Events,' which can be found in the bottom right hand corner of the tab.

Each week of Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity will have six Brilliant Foundables for you to collect.

What are Brilliant Traces in Harry Potter Wizards Unite?

Brilliant Traces only appear during a Brilliant Event. Just like with regular Traces, selecting one will take you to a Foundable that needs to be freed from a Confoundable. Only these Foundables will be specific to the Brilliant Event.

Brilliant Traces are purple with an exclamation mark on them and a beam of purple light running through them.

How to find and use Brilliant Runestones in Harry Potter Wizards Unite

As you collect Brilliant Foundables and complete Special Assignments, your Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity Ranking will increase. When you increase this ranking you will receive Brilliant Runestones, which can be used in the Wizarding Challenges that can be found in the Fortresses.

If you successfully complete a Wizarding Challenge while using a Brilliant Runestone, you may be rewarded with a Brilliant Foundable Fragment.

What to do with Restricted Section Books in Harry Potter Wizards Unite

Restricted Section Books are books that can only be obtained during Brilliant Events. Like Scrolls and Red Spell Book, they are used to level up your chosen Profession and unlock new Strategic Spells.

You will only receive a certain number of Restricted Section Books per Brilliant event, 30 for Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity, so make your choices wisely.

Before beginning your wizarding adventure, you’ll want to join a Hogwarts House in Harry Potter Wizards Unite. After that you’ll need to learn how to battle, so you can compete in Wizarding Challenges at Fortresses or how to use Greenhouses, so that you can perform Potion Master Notes. You can also unlock Portkey Portmanteaus and choose a profession from Auror, Magizoologist or Professor. Don’t forget to take part in the monthly Community Day event either!

Other things to know about Brilliant Event: Potter's Calamity:

• Make sure you save two to three Silver Keys for the 7km Brilliant Portkey Portmanteaus. This will save you a lot of time, especially if you want to fill in the Brilliant Potter's Calamity Registry page - you might not get your desired Foundable on your first Portkey Portmanteaus.
• If you're stuck on performing a Masterful Spellcast, then try drinking a Exstimulo Potion as it will temporarily improve your spell casts.
• Speed and accuracy are both crucial to achieving a Masterful Spellcast, so pick a spell you are familiar with.
• Take the time to read through which each Strategic Spell does before you use those Restricted Section Books - you can only use those precious tomes once.
