Rainbow Six Siege's final Year 4 season Operation Shifting Tides is out now
Adds two new Operators and more.
Ubisoft has brought an end to Rainbow Six Siege's fourth year with one last season update. It's called Operation Shifting Tides and it's out now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Shifting Tides' headline addition comes in the form two new medium-speed, medium-armour Operators - Kali, an Attacker hailing from India, and the Kenya-born Defender Wamai - bringing Rainbow Six Siege's full Operator roster up to 52.
And if it's a bit of backstory you're looking for, Ubisoft explains that the pair "met in the NIGHTHAVEN Special Intervention Company, a private military group owned and led by Kali."
Kali is equipped with the CSRX 300 bolt-action sniper rifle that comes with a variable 5x and 12x scope and can "breach barricades and hatches in a single shot". Her gadget of choice is the sniper rifle's under-barrel, the LV Explosive Lance, which, according to Ubisoft, is able to destroy all gadgets on both sides of breakable and reinforced surfaces.
Wamai, meanwhile, brandishes his trusty Mag-NET System - a magnetic device that's able to attract enemy grenades and projectile gadgets, either detonating them on arrival at its position or turning them against their users.
As usual, owners of Rainbow Six Siege's Season Pass will gain access to the two new Operators ahead of other players from today. Everyone else can take Kali and Wamai for a spin when the seven-day Season Pass exclusivity window ends next week.
Alongside its new Operators, Shifting Tides also introduces a reworked version of Rainbow Six Siege's Theme Park map. Running through the changes, Ubisoft explains that the map's Rail Platform has been removed, and that the newly added Gong Room replaces the now-blocked Arcade as the main point of entry into the building.
Elsewhere on the map, the West and East sections have been moved closer together, with the latter having undergone the most significant overhaul. In the new version, the Gargoyle and Haunting Dining bomb sites have been replaced with the Throne Room and Armoury.
You can get a good look at the overhauled Theme Park map in the new Operation Shifting Tides trailer above, which also breaks down the new Operator skills in much greater detail. A written round-up, detailing the update's full list of changes and additions (such as a new limb penetration system), can be found on the Rainbow Six Siege website.
