Uncharted film loses sixth director
Won't Sully his name.
Sony's increasingly-unlikely-looking Uncharted film has now lost its sixth director, Deadline has reported.
Travis Knight, who previously helmed Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, was the latest to be named director of the project. That was back in October, after fifth director Dan Tractenberg quit last August.
The official Uncharted movie director regeneration order is now David O. Russell > Neil Burger > Seth Gordon > Shawn Levy > Dan Tractenberg > Travis Knight > ? (which means whoever is next gets to be Sylvester McCoy).
What has not changed is the fact MCU Spider-Man Tom Holland is still on board to play a young-looking Nathan Drake. In fact, Holland's busy schedule is apparently behind the latest holdup and Knight's subsequent departure.
Mark Wahlberg, once set to play Drake himself in the original Uncharted movie pitch a million years ago, is still on board to play older sidekick Sully. That is, if the film ever actually happens.
