AGDQ 2020 finished up with a fundraising total of £2.3 million
That's up $700,000 on 2019's total.
Awesome Games Done Quick has raised a staggering £2.3 million ($3.13m) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation in just one week.
At the time of writing, 54,137 donors have raised $3,133,142.78, smashing last year's total by an amazing $700,000 - up 30 per cent on 2019's donations (thanks, Polygon). Almost 3,000 people turned up to watch the show in Florida in person, while Twitch reports a streaming peak of 236,000 concurrently stopping by on Twitch, too. The biggest single donation exceeded $350K - the largest in the event's history - whilst the average donation was a similarly impressive $57.
Collectively, 26 events across ten years have now raised $25.6 million.
The team isn't stopping there, of course. Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 has already been announced, running from 3rd-10th January 2021. As yet, no location has been finalised, but Summer Games Done Quick is slated to take place before then, running 21st-28th June in Minnesota, USA.
