Interested in getting into games? Our friends at GI.biz have a guide for that

Introducing the GamesIndustry.biz Academy.

We make guides for games; our friends at our sister site GamesIndustry.biz make guides for life. That is, if your life goal is making video games, or otherwise getting into the video game industry.

GI.biz has just launched a new section called The GamesIndustry.biz Academy with advice on getting a job in the business - whether that's in journalism, marketing or production - as well as practical guides on how to build games and how to fund, monetise and promote them.

The section's launch content includes guides on using Unity, Unreal, GameMaker and CryEngine; job advice on getting work in games PR, the games press and game design; and an extensive guide on UK video games tax relief. (I can only speak with authority on the games press guide, but there is a lot of good advice in there!)

Over the coming weeks, guides will be added on games testing, working with Chinese partners, invesment, events marketing, good workplace practices and much more. Many of the guides will be ideal for students or people at the start of a career in games, but there'll be some more advanced pieces too.

Interested? Head on over to the Academy and have a browse, or check GI's story for more info.
