All-women charity speedrunning event Frost Fatales just released its schedule
And it looks fab.
This year's Awesome Games Done Quick seemed to be over in a flash - and after some incredible Fallout anthology and Super Monkey Ball runs, I've found myself craving more.
Luckily, there's another GDQ-affiliated speedrunning bonanza coming up, and this time it's an all-women event called Frost Fatales.
Taking place between 23rd February and 1st March, Frost Fatales is an online speedrunning marathon showcasing a variety of speedruns by women. The schedule just got posted, and it looks chock full of entertaining runs. On the first day alone there's Hollow Knight and Portal, and I'll definitely be tuning in for Spyro and Tetris Effect. You'll be able to watch it all via GDQ's Twitch channel when the event kicks off in February.
Not only does Frost Fatales hope to promote women in speedrunning, but the event's also for a good cause: with all proceeds going to The Malala Fund. Founded by Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, the charity aims to "break down the barriers preventing more than 130m girls around the world from going to school".
Frost Fatales, meanwhile, was set up as part of GDQ Hotfix (a Twitch series designed to spotlight speedrunning events), and is the winter version of Frame Fatales, which took place for the first time last May. By all accounts, that event was a success - despite the best efforts of a squirrel which decided to eat one player's cables. Make sure to check out the Sekiro run below if you want to feel extremely mediocre about your parrying skills.
