Festivals in Stardew Valley explained
Festivals are special events that run throughout each year in Stardew Valley. Each one allows you to complete an activity that will either net you a good reward or allow you to grow closer to a villager or two.
On the day of a festival all the shops and homes in the valley will be locked, as everyone is attending the festival. The only places that remain open are the Community Center, Sewers and Spa.
Time will also stand still when you're attending a festival, allowing you to freely enjoy the event. When you're ready to leave, you'll be returned to your farm at a specific time. This means that you can get all your daily jobs done, attend the festival ten minutes before it ends and still enjoy the event fully.
The Desert Festival and Night Market, however, are the exceptions to this rule as time will continue to flow during this event. You'll also be able to visit shops and homes as usual.
When a festival begins, a small message will appear in the lower-left hand corner to remind you of its location.
Have fun in Stardew Valley's festivals!
