Koei Tecmo's websites remain down following Christmas cyberattack

Koei Tecmo's American and European websites remain offline over a week after they were targeted by hackers.
If you visit either the European or North American site, you'll be greeted with a message that reads: "Due to the possibility of an external cyberattack on this website, it is temporarily closed as we investigate the issue".
The publisher doesn't believe financial information has been compromised but did acknowledge that the hack - which is thought to have happened on Christmas Day, 25th December - may have put at risk account names, encrypted passwords, and email addresses.
Anyone who frequently pairs the same email address and password as used on the Koei Tecmo website is advised to change their login at other sites as soon as possible.
Whilst still unconfirmed - as yet, there's been no formal information from Koei Tecmo over the holidays - Famitsu further suggests IPs, usernames, dates of birth, and country of origin may also be at risk, and reports that information stolen via the hack is already for sale on the black market (thanks, PC Gamer).
ICYMI, Koei Tecmo revealed Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires back in September. Making the announcement at Tokyo Game Show, Koei Tecmo confirmed the strategic battle experience is coming to current- and new-gen consoles - that's PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S - as well as Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in "early" 2021.
