What's new in Wedding Season 2021 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

While Wedding Season itself hasn't changed for 2021, there are four seasonal items exclusive to Nook Shopping in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

These items can be purchased at any point during Wedding Season, which is all of June, but are tied to the five items per day limit for Nook Shopping orders.

Here are the Nook Shopping seasonal items, along with their price, for Wedding Season:

• Flower-petal basket - 1,200 Bells
• Nuptial bell - 4,500 Bells
• Nuptial doorplate - 1,400 Bells
• Nuptial ring pillow - 2,200 Bells

How to start the Wedding Season event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Wedding Season begins with a phone call from Harvey, which you'll receive the first time you play New Horizons during June. He'll explain that he has some visitors at Photopia and that he needs a hand organising their pictures.

To visit Photopia, which is located on Harv's Island, head down to your island's airport.

Once there talk to Orville and begin your fun journey through his conversation tree. To journey to Harv's Island you'll first want to select 'I wanna fly!' and then 'Visit Harv's Island.' Orville will then double check your decision before allowing you to leave.

After arriving on Harv's Island, you'll notice that he does have some visitors. Walk over and you'll be introduced to the alpacas Reese and Cyrus. Harvey will explain that the couple have come to take some photos to celebrate their anniversary and he needs you to arrange the furniture, because apparently he can't do it himself.

Agree to help and you'll head inside Harvey's cabin to begin your career in wedding photography. (Or is post-wedding photography?)

Wedding Season event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

The Wedding Season event in New Horizons is all about taking photographs that celebrate Cyrus and Reese's wedding. Before you begin arranging furniture, however, you should see what the happy couple actually want.

Head over to Reese and she'll give you some hints about how she'd like you to decorate for her wedding photos. She might ask you to focus on the colours pink and white, for example, which means that you should include pieces of furniture with these colours.

Reese will also explain that Cyrus has made a collection of special wedding themed items, including furniture and wallpaper, that you can use to decorate the room with. This furniture can be found within the Event furniture tab.

Once you've finished talking to Reese and Cyrus, it's time to set the wedding scene.

Arranging the furniture for Wedding Season is very similar to how you arrange furniture within your house.

You open the item storage by pressing down on the D-Pad and, from there, you can select any furniture you wish to place in the scene. This furniture can then be dragged and dropped into position, as well being rotated.

There are, however, a few differences to how you arrange furniture in your house.

The first is that, as long as the piece of furniture is in your inventory, you can place it in the Wedding Season photo as many times as you like. This means that even if you actually only own one copy of this item, as the cherry-blossom bonsai, you can place multiple pink bonsai's in your Wedding Season photo.

The second change is that, if you want to customise a piece of furniture, then you press the X button when you have it selected. Doing so will open up the customisation screen for that particular item and you can change its design without the need for Customisation kits.

Third and finally, you can move yourself, Reese and Cyrus about the room by selecting and dragging yourself and them across the room. This is especially useful if you want to experiment with where the couple are standing or if a character is simply in the way.

Once you feel like the room is suitably wedding themed, talk to Reese again and she'll ask you to take a picture using the Camera app on your Nook Phone.

You can now take as many pictures as you want, changing the filter and angle, until you take a picture you're happy with. If you feel like your avatar is getting in the way, pressing - will cause your character to vanish.

Though Reese will only look at the last photo you took, so make sure your last photograph is perfect.

Don't worry if you don't quite meet her standards, Wedding Season lasts for the entity of June, so you can always come back another day.

Heart crystals and wedding items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained

In return for helping Reese and Cyrus recreate their wedding day in New Horizons, you'll receive a number of Heart crystals; the better you fulfil Reese's request, the more Heart crystals you receive.

You can then exchange these Heart crystals for wedding items by talking to Cyrus, though you can only order eight items each day.

The wedding items, along with their Heart crystal cost, are:

Once you've helped Reese and Cyrus with their photoshoot seven times, this means visiting Harv's Island for a total of seven days, then you'll receive three special rewards, which are:

• Reese and Cyrus photo plate
• Wedding fence
• Wedding wand DIY recipe

Remember - Reese and Cyrus will be on Harv's Island for the entirety of June, so you don't have to earn every piece of furniture on the same day.

Wedding Season dates in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Wedding Season in New Horizons runs from Tuesday, 1st June to Wednesday, 30th June. Time-wise it starts and ends at 5am on these days, which is the shared reset time for every island.

This means that you have the whole of June to take part in this event and, presumably, this will remain the same in June next year.

If you want to take part in Wedding Season, you must first ensure that you've downloaded the latest patch for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which you should be prompted to do when you start the game.

This update contains a variety of new features, including Redd, the art gallery for the Museum and the ability to grow bushes on your island.

Just remember - if you miss Wedding Season this year, you'll have to wait quite a while for the event to return next year.
